At AA rally in Ogun, guber candidate promises to clear pensions’ backlog if elected
By Ifedayo Ogunyemi
Ogun State governorship candidate of Action Alliance (AA), Dr Samuel Adeyemi, has assured electorate in the state that his administration would clear all the backlogs of pensions and gratuities in one year when elected as governor.
He made the promise while decrying the plight of pensioners in the state during the party’s campaign flag-off in Abeokuta the state capital.
Adeyemi further promised that his administration would create wealth for the state through agriculture by establishing a system that would trigger interest for farming among the youth.
“God has given me divine arrangement whereby I will clear all their back logs within one year. If government’s resources don’t carry that, we will go for other government sources.
“We had an engagement with the Nigerian Union of Pensioners and they said they are aligning with our party.
“We also had meetings with labour leaders and they also picked interest in us. Action Alliance is not just any other party. Politics will never remain the same when we emerge. The masses will no longer be treated as if they are nobody.
“We are going to produce free education up to the university level. We will give free healthcare to women and mothers, and we will also come up with an agricultural programmes that will make the youth go back to farm,” he said.
At the event, state party chairman, Abayomi Sanyaolu, presented party flags to the party’s 26 State House of Assembly candidates and the governorship candidate, while urging the electorate to go out en masse to cast their votes for all the AA candidates.
