Asun: A way of preparing your meat differently this Sallah

At the mention of Sallah, what readily comes to mind is slaughtering of ram. You probably have a stereotyped way of preparing your meat year in, year out. Why don’t you try something different this year.  Treat yourself to that spicy peppery delicacy called asun and make this celebration a forget not, writes TOLUWANI OLAMITOKE.

Ingredients:

  • 1kg cooked and grilled goat meat
  • Scotch bonnet (atarodo) as much as you can tolerate
  • Green and bell peppers (optional)
  • 2 large onions
  • 2 seasoning cubes
  • Salt to taste

Direction:

  1. Blend coarsely or chop the peppers and onion. Set aside.
  2. Chop the grilled goat meat into small chunks. Set a wok or skillet on medium heat.
  3. Add seasoning and salt to taste.
  4. Chop the second onion and add the meat and stir.
  5. Add some more chopped green pepper.
  6. Add chopped green pepper, stir and combine. Let this fry for 10 minutes.
