Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Asake has drops a brand-new single titled Badman Gangsta, featuring French artist Tiakola.
The track, which offers a fresh taste of Asake’s evolving sound, blends Afrobeats with international influences, creating a smooth, atmospheric anthem rooted in global music fusion.
Built around a nostalgic sample of Amerie’s early 2000s hit 1 Thing, the song weaves together Asake’s signature airy vocals with acoustic guitar riffs and subtle saxophone elements, resulting in a genre-defying experience.
Lyrically, Badman Gangsta serves as a bold yet reflective mantra, celebrating success, hustle, and gratitude. Both Asake and Tiakola effortlessly switch between English, Yoruba, and French, bringing a unique cultural synergy to the track.
Accompanying the release is a cinematic music video shot in black-and-white, offering glimpses into Asake’s jet-setting lifestyle. Scenes include his appearance at Paris Fashion Week and studio sessions across various global locations, all presented with a vintage visual flair.
Badman Gangsta also serves as a teaser for Asake’s highly anticipated album titled Money, which was officially announced earlier this month.
