As part of the celebration of the Nigerian Army Day, the 8 Division of the Nigerian Army has conducted a medical outreach for the people of Sokoto communities.
Flagging off the campaign in Sifawa, Bodinga Local Government on Monday, the General Officer Commander, Major General Usman Yusuf, described the exercise as part of the social responsibility of the army.
The General Officer Commander, who was represented at the occasion by the Garrison Commander Brigadier General Ralph Nnebeife, commended the people of Sifawa and its environment for trooping out in large numbers for the exercise.
He advised the beneficiaries in Sifawa to be law-abiding while assuring them everyone will be attended to with relevant drugs.
He commends the district head of Sifawa for making his subjects available to receive the medical assistance which he assured is for every resident of the town.
Earlier in his address, the district head of Sifawa, Alhaji Buhari Tambari, commended the Nigerian Army for bringing the medical outreach to his domain, which he described as highly commendable.
He appealed to the people to exercise patience with the medical team while assuring them that everyone will be captured.
Meanwhile, Garrison Commander 26 Battalion, Brigadier General Ralph Nnebeife, has disclosed that the authority of the Nigerian Army will renovate the Primary Health Centre in the town.
Nnebeife further disclosed that the two days of medical outreach currently going on in both Sifawa and Denge-Shuni areas of the state will round up this year activities of the Nigerian Army Day.
He said the GOC has inspected the facility and promised that in no short distance time, everything will be put back in shape for the benefit of the people of Sifawa and its immediate environment.
