Court of Appeal sitting in Ibadan on Tuesday, affirmed the selection and enthronement of Oba Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye as 26th Soun of Ogbomosoland.

The ruling of the Court of Appeal has set aside the judgment of the lower Court that nullified the selection and enthronement of Oba Olaoye by the kingmakers.

Justice Adedokun had, while ruling on the petition filed by Prince Kabiru Laoye, stated that Due Process was not followed in the selection and subsequent enthronement of Oba Olaoye as the Soun of Ogbomosoland.

Justice Adedokun, who announced that the appointment of Oba Laoye was illegal, ordered a fresh selection process to elect a new Soun.

Dissatisfied with the ruling of the High Court, the defendant filed a petition at the Court of Appeal.

A 3-member panel of Justice headed by Justice Yargata Nimpar was set up to adjudicate on the 10-point ground of Appeal.

Justice Nimpar, therefore, resolved all the 10 points ground of Appeal in favour of Oba Olaoye.

The judgment has resolved all the controversies surrounding the selection and enthronement of Oba Olaoye as Soun of Ogbomosoland.
