Traditional head of Tivs, Tor Tiv Begha U Tiv, Prof James Ortese Iorzua Ayatse has declared that the tribe deserves to produce Nigerian president in 2019.
“We deserve to win the seat, as a Tiv having paid our due,” Ayatse said while playing host to Presidential candidate of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Gen John Gbor in his palace.
“You will get support”, he promised him.
Gbor who is a Tiv from Benue State had on Christmas Day went home to pay homage to the Tor Tiv as part of strategies to boost his campaign.
Tor Tiv who invited five other traditional rulers to the palace to pray for Gbor, said, “for just winning the flag alone, you have done us proud. APGA is a major party having won the governorship and legislative elections in the country.”
The first-class monarch, who is the Chairman Traditional Council of Benue State then charged his guest to “go out with the spirit of a lion, you are not an underdog: go out like a lion, the Lord will be with you,” he said.
Gbor also paid a homage to OchIdoma in Otukpo, to receive blessings.
While acknowledging the overwhelming crowd Gbor’s visit brought to the palace, the monarch called for peace and love and thanked Gen Gbor for being the first presidential candidate to visit his palace.

Earlier while presenting his 5-point agenda, Gbor told the monarch that the Yoruba people spurred him to contest for the highest position in Nigeria.
Director of Strategic Communication, Gen John Gbor and Jerry Chukwueke Presidential Campaign Organisation, Mike Angel quoted Gbor in a statement on Wednesday, “Nigerians are tired of leadership without leadership.
“Courage comes from God, and I look at Buhari down there: people are suffering, killed, no peace, trust me with your mandate as your President to make this nation prosperous. I can rule the whole world now”, he said.
Gbor, a retired army General, then presented his certificate, issued by APGA to vie for the presidency, and his policy declaration to the royal father.
