THE crisis precipitated by the adoption of the direct primary option for the conduct of primary election to select governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Osun ahead September 22 gubernatorial poll worsened on Tuesday as 12 aspirants rejected the decision.
This development followed the resolution of the APC in Osun West Senatorial District, which outrightly rejected the Mondays ratification of the direct primary by National Working Committee (NEC) led by the newly elected national chairman of the ruling party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
Addressing a press conference in Iwo at the APC secretariat in Osun West, the chairman in the district, Hon Amobi Akintola said: “we are calling on the NWC of APC to revert the proclamation of the direct primary system without further delay”.
