
THE Presidential aspirant on the platform of the People Democratic party PDP, Alhaji Dr Sule Lamido, on Thursday visited members of the caretaker committee of the party in Anambra state chapter to informed them of his intent to seek the ticket of the PDP to contest 2019.
The presidential election and to solicit delegates support for the forthcoming October 6 2018, PDP Presidential primaries in Abuja.
Dr. Lamido, who arrived Awka, the Anambra state capital, at about 7: 22 pm was accompanied by former Minister of Women Affairs and a BoT member of the party, Mrs Josephine Anenih, former Anambra state governorship candidate under PDP, Mr Oseloka Henry Obaze, chieftains of the party, state National delegates, among others.
Addressing the leadership and delegates for the party convention at De GeoGold hotel Awka , Lamido who described himself as the leader, Nigerians need to reclaim power from the bad administration ever experience in Nigeria, called on the electorate to be wised with their Permanent Voters Card PVC, and vote out the fraudulent government of the All Progressives Congress APC, in 2019, for the country to returns to its unity based established by the PDP, in 1998-2015.
While questioning the democratic antecedents of President Muhammadu Buhari, the two terms governor of Jigawa state urged Nigerians to know that President Mohammadu Buhari has a history of violence, a development he attributed to the herdsmen/farmers clashes that have claimed thousands of innocent Nigerians, currently going on in some part of the country, Kidnapping, intimidation of opposition parties and his dislike for the country restructuring.
The PDP Presidential aspirant who advised the party Stewarts to give the party presidential ticket to an aspirant from the North West because of its electorate strength of over 180million voters, maintain that President Mohammadu Buhari led- Federal Government has fair on his promises he made to Nigerians in may 29 2015, during his inaugurate speech at the eagle square Abuja that his dispensation will fight all round corruption in respective of political affiliation, which reverse has been a hell to whoever challenges he words.
Let me tell you, he continued, the character of a good leader has a way of affecting the behaviour of the people he or she lead, which is why there are a lot of ethnic agitations everywhere in the country today.
On his Presidential ambition, Dr Lamido said, “I am contesting to bring back Nigeria from its lost glory and to restructured the country to the test of all the six geopolitical zones” as a man with a large heart”, he concluded.
Mrs Josephine Anenith, who applauded the large turnout of the party supporters, that welcome the former Foreign Affair Minister, urged the concerned delegates to vote Alhaji Sule Lamido for a better PDP and the society of Nigeria at large.
Responding on behalf of the State executive, the state chairman of the party, Chief Ndubusisi Nwobo, described Lamido as a detribalised Nigeria leader in the mould of the late Aminu Kano, Sir Ahmadu Bello, Chief Obafemi Awolowo and Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, Dr Alex Ekwueme.
Nwobu who assure the aspirant of their support only if he would have the people of the south-east at heart if eventually emerges the president of Nigeria in 2019 election, however, stated that most Anamberians and Nigerians at large today have come to realise that the PDP midwifed democracy for Nigeria and that the country fared better under the party.
