The Secretary of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Northwest Alliance for Good Governance (NAGG), Comrade Auwal Shuaib, has stated that the 2027 election will be a smooth ride for the APC and its candidate, President Bola Tinubu.

He believes that opposition parties have lost their political focus and the will to pose any significant threat in the current political landscape.

He also noted that without the support of the New Nigeria People Party (NNPP) presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the APC is well-positioned to reclaim Kano State from the incumbent governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf.

According to him, “The APC in Kano and the entire region will be better off without Sen. Kwankwaso. We urge President Tinubu not to succumb to emotional blackmail. With Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as the national chairman, victory is certain. He has demonstrated excellent leadership qualities in party management and administration, along with the capability to win elections.”

Speaking to the press on Monday in Kano, Comrade Shuaib commented on the rumoured moves by former Kano governor and leader of the Kwankwasiyya group, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, to join the APC.

He stated that the party is not concerned, as many political parties are currently facing their own crises.

Comrade Shuaib reiterated that the 2027 election will indeed be a smooth ride for the APC and its candidate, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He said, “if you look closely at the results of the last election, Pres Tinubu garnered over 500,000 votes in Kano. Sen. Kwankwaso surpassed him with just a few hundreds votes.

He continued, “the margin is insignificant, looking at the odds against the APC. So, the Kwankwaso myth has been demystified. If as then President Tinubu won, without Kwanwaso’s support, how much more now he is president?

“The best thing to do, is to consolidate Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje’s position as party Chair, ànd empower the APC family in Kano and other states to ensure a seamless victory.”

Speaking in the same vein, the coordinator of group, Amb. Abdullahi Mohammed sai “making peace between the two political gladiators in Kano, Ganduje and Kwankwaso is a welcome idea. But, this can be achieved without necessarily having Sen.Kwankwaso decamp to the APC.

Remember, Dr Ganduje, laboured to keep the Kano APC unified and stronger to face future elections. While Kwankwaso has worked to destabilize the party.
