APC behind insurgency, poverty —Lamido

Published by

ONE of the presidential aspirants in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),  Alhaji Sule Lamido, has blamed the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari for  the resurgence of insurgency, hunger and poverty in the country.

Sule Lamido made the allegation at a grand reception held in honour of the party’s deputy national chairman, Senator Babayo Gamawa, on Saturday, at the multipurpose indoor sports hall in Bauchi State.

He claimed that Buhari won the 2015 presidential election at a time when he was not prepared to govern Nigeria.

“APC has only succeeded in robbing its citizens of their rights and the dividend of democracy, but has also made  hunger, poverty and insecurity to persist in the country.

“Nigeria is not only for Fulani alone but for both Christians and Muslims. The country remains indivisible and the current insecurity situation is a pointer to the fact that APC has failed and is solidly behind the  killings,” Sule Lamido further said.

The PDP chieftain urged the president to desist from using anti-graft agencies to  intimidate the opposition, saying that his action was borne out of the worry of losing the 2019 election.

Lamido boasted that the PDP would be sworn into power, because the  APC congresses held across the country were a strong indication that the ruling party had campaigned for the PDP and urged Nigerians to vote out the APC in 2019.
