These may not be best of times for one of Nigeria’s foremost musical groups, P-Square as there are strong indications that the P-square brothers are currently trying to contain another round of rift that many people feared could break up the group if not halted.
R gathered that a crack in the Square Villa came to the fore when Peter Okoye, who returned to the country after spending some weeks in the United States (US) with his new set of twins posted a cryptic message on his Instagram account, saying “If it makes you Happy, no one else’s opinion should Matter. #LiveLifeHappy #WordsOfHappiness #KoolestDude #MrP.”
That message did more damage than good to the Okoyes unity as their fans questioned the use of #MrP towards the end of his message with some presuming that he only used the name when there was a rift in the family, especially between him and his brother, Paul.
While many people are wondering what could be responsible for the uneasy calm sweeping through the Okoye’s family, R gathered that the fresh trouble this time may not be down to any misunderstanding between Peter and Paul as it was the last time but what is believed to be an alleged ’bad blood’ between Peter and Lola, Paul’s wife.
Paul had issued a warning to an unnamed lady and accused her of making efforts to disrupt the peace between himself and his brother. He swore to expose the woman if she failed to change.
The message read: “Back to Naija don’t take my silence for granted. Only a woman can come where brothers are working in peace and destroy it. #youknowyourself. Try me this time. I swear Nyash go open, you will know that blood is thicker and stronger than juju…”
As if that was not enough, Peter went further to launch another attack, saying” Since the announcement of the arrival of these two. I swear some people have been restless, they cant even sleep. They are not at peace #jelousy #envy. I swear if a plot of land some people go don buy 10 plots lol…. all these distractions can’t stop God’s blessings…. #doubledouble #somethingisfishing”.
It is believed in some quarters that the rift might be a ploy to draw attention to the new album of the group, which would be released anytime from now, Peter seemed to have confirmed that this wasn’t a publicity stunt when a fan asked him about the proposed world tour with his brother. He replied the fan saying “ It is not happening” meaning that it has been cancelled.
While Paul has kept mum on the perceived feud between his wife and brother, Peter, there are concerns that his silence this time was to avoid being dragged into the crisis that some people feared might lead to their split.
