Anglican Church building at Ibabu dedicated

Published by

The St. John’s Anglican Church and a vicarage at Ibabu, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of  Delta State have been dedicated with a call on Christians to commit  their lives to the service of God.

The church was built by Mr Monday Onyeme, a native of the community and Chairman,  Delta State Board of Internal Revenue in fulfillment of his promise after the death of his father in 2012.

Governor  Ifeanyi Okowa, at the occasion,  said this is  not the time to grumble, but to pray for God to turn things round.

According to the governor, “building for the Lord is the best gift you can give when God blesses you.

“Building physical structures for the Lord is good, but the greatest gift you can give  is what you do in your heart. My prayer is that the prayers said in this place will uplift the people.

“Christians must continue to pray for the state and Nigeria. No matter the challenge, it is not time to grumble, it is time to pray for God to turn things round for our nation.”

He commended Mr Onyeme for donating such edifice to the church, revealing  that his administration will construct a six-classroom block for Anglican Grammar School, Obiaruku.

Bishop of Ndokwa Diocese of the Anglican Communion, Right Reverend David Obiosa, during a sermon, said: “The whole duty of man is to serve the Lord. We are here for the dedication of this church and the vicarage built by Mr Monday Onyeme for a purpose, it is building a place for prayer for the worship of God who made us and has continued to empower us.”
