Ahead March 5, conduct of the All Progressives Congress primary to produce its candidate for the Anambra Governorship election, one of the aspirants, Chukuma Umeoji has urged other contenders for the ticket to step down for him.
He made the call on Tuesday after submitting his Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms in Abuja.
Other aspirants include, Professor Obiora Okonkwo, Nicholas Chukwujeku Ukachukwu, Sir Paul Chukwuma, and Onunkwo Obinna, among others.
Umeoji described himself as the only APC aspirant with the capacity to dislodge the incumbent, Governor Charles Soludo and turn around the fortunes of the citizens of Anambra State.
The aspirant scored Governor Soludo low in his efforts to combat insecurity in the Southeast state.
He said “I am calling on other aspirants to step down for Umeoji who has the experience. I may not have the capacity to talk like Soludo who promised everything and did nothing.
“We are coming to provide practical solutions, not theory. His (Soludo) government has shown that academic qualification is not a guarantee for performance.”
Umeoji stressed that he is not coming to establish Dubai and Taiwan like Soludo promised, but he is coming to develop the state.
