Philanthropist and Chief Executive Officer of Blue Shield Security company Ltd, Ozo Jeff Nweke, has announced a scholarship program for four students at Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Awka, Anambra State, as part of his commitment to ensuring a better future for young people in Anambra.
The scholarship ceremony took place in Awka, where the students were admitted into the Ozo Jeff scholarship scheme. Ozo Jeff handed over sums of N1 million and N1.5 million to each of the beneficiaries for the first quarter of the year to enable them to acquire necessary materials for their education.
Addressing the students—Ngama Hope Chidera (English Language and Literary Studies), Okonkwo John (Statistics), Alieze Samson (Education Management and Policy), and David Emmanuel (Philosophy)—Ozo Jeff urged them to avoid cultism and other negative influences that could hinder their ambitions.
He emphasized that the characteristics that led to their selection for the scholarship should remain with them, encouraging them to maximize their potential and strive to become future leaders such as Presidents or Governors.
“You have the potential to be great achievers, but if you do not work hard to maximize those potentials, they will perish in you,” he advised.
Ozo Jeff also stressed the importance of hard work and dedication, noting that success in life is not achieved through sudden flights but through persistent effort and determination.
The Director of Ozo Jeff Education Scholarship Scheme, Ikechukwu Chinweze, explained that the program has been running for two years, with Ozo Jeff spending over N100 million since its commencement. He highlighted that the scholarship program extends across various states in Nigeria, and beneficiaries are selected based on academic merit and socio-moral conduct.
The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to Ozo Jeff for his generosity, and they wished him continuous success in his philanthropic endeavors.
