Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo of Anambra State and his Deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, who were re-elected on Saturday, November 8, 2025, for a second term, received their Certificates of Return on Tuesday, November 11, from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The certificates were presented by the INEC Supervising National Commissioner and Chairman of the Tenders Board Committee, Dr. Ken Ukeagu, during a brief ceremony attended by APGA faithful, including the governor’s wife, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, and their children; the member representing Ihiala Federal Constituency, Pascal Agbodike; Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Ben Obidike; Chairman of Awka North Local Government Area, Hon. ThankGod Anagor; members of the State House of Assembly; and other top government officials at the INEC headquarters in Awka.
Soludo pledged to work harder in his second term than he did in his first, describing the election as free, fair, and credible. He thanked all those who made it possible, especially President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whom he commended for keeping his promise to ensure a transparent and credible process.

He said:
“I want to assure you that with my Deputy, our team, and I, we are going to ensure that Anambra continues to shine. God has been with us, and God is still with us.
“I want to reassure you that I will not fail you. I will work even harder in my second tenure than I did in my first term so that, at the end of eight years, Anambra will look back and be proud that the confidence reposed in me as governor was not in vain.
“I call on my brothers and sisters who contested with me to join hands with us so that we can move our state forward and make it a destination hub in Nigeria.”
Thanking the people, Soludo said:
“My first thanks go to Almighty God, who performed the miracle of my overwhelming victory.
“I want to specially thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his firm stand on ensuring a transparent and credible election in Anambra State.
“I also thank all INEC staff, particularly the newly appointed INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Ojo Amupitan; the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Dr. Queen Elizabeth Agwu; and all INEC officials, the media, and the security agencies that worked tirelessly to ensure a free, fair, and transparent election.
“I am deeply grateful to the people of Anambra for their trust, and in particular, to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for their confidence in presenting me again and supporting me all the way.”
Reacting to the development, Chief Ebuka Onunkwo, a former aspirant for the Anambra South Senatorial District by-election under the APGA platform, commended President Tinubu, INEC, the security agencies, and APGA supporters for ensuring a peaceful and crime-free election in the state.
He pledged his support to Governor Soludo to help him actualize his vision of making Anambra a livable and prosperous state in Nigeria.
