Anambra Entrepreneurial Training Institute to commence soon —ASBA Boss

The Managing Director, Anambra State Small Business Agency (ASBA), Hon. Clement Chukwuka says the proposed State Entrepreneurial Training Institute, Awka, will soon take off based on public-private partnership arrangement.

He disclosed this yesterday in an interview with journalists in Awka, Chukwuka, said the Training Institute will be located within the premises of the Agency on the Onisha-Enugu expressway.

The Idea was conceived in 2016 by the State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano and is to partner with various Technical and Agricultural Universities in the World. Aside from this, the college will also partnered the Nnamdi Azikiwe University entrepreneurial Studies Awka, Innoson Technical College Nnewi among others Technical studies centres in Nigeria, that would afford the students quality teaching on Entrepreneurial trading and acquisitions; thereby adding value to their certificates at the end of their courses at the institution.

Chukwuka said, the establishment of this Idea was born out of a vision to primarily impact and empower the teeming youths, the younger generation, that constitutes the greater percentage of Nigeria’s population on one hand and others who desire Buying and Selling training to equip them to be responsible citizens of our great nation, Nigeria.

He said the Institution will offer a structured approach to providing youths with market-relevant skills and a reliable pathway to economic empowerment that prevents a descent into negative and destructive behaviour often associated with unemployment.
To achieve the objective, Chukwuka maintains that the Agency is committed to a policy of providing the best Trading education and training for the greatest number, and thorough training of each individual in the shortest time possible in accordance with internationally acknowledged and accepted best practices in every area of its operation.

The goal of the Trading institution is to give equal opportunity for all in every aspect of its operation. To this effect, the institution shall
not discriminate on the basis of sex, age, religion, national origin, marital status or handicap, he noted.
According to the ASBA Boss, the scheme shall focus on training beneficiaries for professionalism in Small and Medium Businesses through performance. The administration of the institution will concern itself with every aspect of Trading excellence and within a lively, lovely, supportive and conducive environment.

The Agency is poised to operate a school system whereby the major academic units will be independent to carry out its activities under a central administration of Anambra State Government.
