Senator Victor Umeh
Umeh who made this assertion in an interview with newsmen in Awka, the Anambra State Capital, described the claim by a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to be sworn-in, as the Senator for Anambra Central, as a joke, pointing out that the Court of Appeal judgement of December seventh, 2015 has effectively nullified the result of the March 2015 Anambra Central Senatorial District election.
Chief Umeh maintained that for this reason, the claim by the chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party is a nullity and cannot be enforced, adding that the Nigerian constitution and the Electoral Act have guaranteed the January thirteenth, 2018 date already fixed by INEC for the Anambra Central Senatorial District re-run election.
The immediate past APGA National Chairman called on the electorate in Senatorial District to brace for the re-run poll and exercise their franchise for effective representation at the Senate.
