AFRICA’s first rhythm festival, the Nations Rhythm Festival will return for its third edition between May 5 and 10, 2025.

Just like in the past editions, the festival will be held at the Alliance Française, Ibadan, Oyo State.

According to the coordinator of the festival, Peter Olalekan Adedokun, this year’s event will feature drum making workshops, interactive drumming/ workshop sessions, drumming for wellness, lectures and daily performances.

He said there will also be performances by Jonathan Murray, from the United States. Murray is also the Festival’s Board President.

“Others who will be available are Dave Holland, who is also from the United States; Omid Amiri, a saxophonist; Joshua Kerobo, a saxophonist and drummer, who is also from the United States; Alajota Dance Company, among others.

“This year’s edition is expected to be grand, considering the number of people who would be joining us live for the events. Other lovers of drums are also expected to join virtually from across the world.

“The Nations Rhythm Festival is just an opportunity to showcase the art of drumming and project the Yoruba drums to the world. One good thing about drums is that every culture has a drum and very soon, we will be taking the festival across the world to showcase and celebrate the other types of drums,’ Adedokun said.
