The audit which will look into different areas that make up safe flight operations in the sector will touch on the state’s aviation laws, regulations and oversight capability of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) in accordance with the eight critical elements as defined in the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) document 9734.
In addition, during the assessment, the team will need to visit the facilities of an Airline Operators Certificate (AOC) holder where the team will look at the operations and maintenance organisations.
According to the image maker of the NCAA, Sam Adurogboye, already, a four-member team from the FAA has arrived Nigeria to conduct the audit which will take place from August 21 to 25, 2017.
The members of the team are Louis A. Alvarez, Team leader, L.P.Vanstory, Operations Specialist, Benjamin Garrido, Airworthiness Specialist and Jeffrey Klang, Attorney.
At the end of the assessment, there will be a debriefing session at the headquarters of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).
