Some students of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR) has be awarded different cash gifts for their outstanding performance in their fields of studies for 2014 2015 and 2016 academic year.
In a presentation ceremony at the Institute premises recently, the initiator of the cash gift for excellence and Legal Secretary, Eko Hotels and Suites, Chief Alabi, redeemed his promises to NIHOTOUR by awarding cash gifts to three students for their exceptional grades.
Chief Alabi’s drive to celebrate excellence in hospitality sector was geared by his passion to build capacity for the Nigeria hospitality industry. His believe, that for the service industry to grow, there is need for professional to be engaged and to this end spurred him to encourage hospitality students through various incentives to sustain the business in Nigeria.
However the Lagos campus of NIHOTOUR launched its Post Graduate Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management during the 2010/2011 Academic Session.
To also make the department an innovative industry-academic oriented, lecturers were drawn from the Institute’s core lecturers and selected industry professionals to ensure quality and maintain standard.
Chief Samuel Alabi, a lawyer of note with over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry was one the resource persons engaged to share his wealth of experience with students of the institute.
He lectures Hospitality and Tourism Law as a programme which he has given priority to with the award of cash prizes to the student who scores the highest grade in the course, which was instituted by Chief Alabi since 2010.
