NASARAWA State Governor Umaru Tanko Al-makura, has sent 11 Local Government Area Interim Management Committee (IMC) nominees to the Nasarawa State House of Assembly for confirmation.
The speaker of the House, Alhaji Ibrahim Balarabe announced this in Lafia, after the majority leader of the house, Tanko Tunga (APC-Awe North) read the letter of the governor at the floor of the house.
According to him, “we have received a letter from His Excellency, Tanko Al-Makura through the majority leader and we slated tomorrow October 24 for the screening of the 11 local government area Interim Management Committee (IMC) chairmen and their IMC members in order to boost grassroots development.
“We hereby direct the clerk of the house to communicate the appointees and ask them to submit 30 copies of their credentials before 9am tomorrow, October 24“, he said.
Earlier, Alhaji Tanko Tunga (APC-Awe North), the Majority leader of the house while presenting the governor letter at the floor of the house said that their appointment was based on their track records.
Tunga said that their appointment would not only bring the government closer to the people at the grassroots but also promote growth and development at the grassroots.
Tribune Online reports that, the nominees are; Kwanta Yakubu, Akwanga LGA, Hudu Tafida, Awe LGA, Rabo Sani, Doma LGA, James Thomas ,Karu LGA, Jamila Sarki, Kokona LGA.
Others are; Yahuza Mairafi, Lafia LGA, Ayuba Wandai, Nasarawa LGA, Danlami Idris, Nassarawa Eggon LGA, Sa’adatu Yahaya, Obi LGA, Nuhu Dauda, Toto LGA  and Murtala Lamus, Wamba LGA with their members.
