Senate Minority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio on Monday visited the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, shortly after his return from the United Kingdom, where he had an audience with President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Akwa-Ibom senator appears to have tidied his defection bid having already met with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa last week.

The Presidency is showcasing Akpabio as its major catch from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) following massive defections from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in recent weeks, which had seen the Senate President, the Governors of Benue, Kwara and Sokoto as well as 14 Senators and 32 House of Representatives members dump the APC.
Presidential Liaison to the National Assembly, Senator Ita Enang had celebrated Akpabio’s defection to the APC on the social media, when he declared that the former Governor of Akwa-Ibom state would be unveiled on August 9.
His consultations with Tinubu is believed to be one of the last ahead of his formal declaration for the ruling APC.
