The Oyo state government will mark six years of the administration of Governor Abiola Ajimobi with flag off of road projects, free trade zone, government reserved area, health insurance scheme, Aso oke market, tutorial centre and commissioning of bridge.
The month long line up of activities disclosed by Secretary to the Oyo state government, Mr Olalekan Alli, in Ibadan, on Tuesday, will see Governor Ajimobi launch the state-wide N200 health insurance scheme on Thursday and flag off of the 4,000 hectares Pacesetter-Polaris free trade zone on Friday.
In addressing fears of villagers to be affected by the free trade zone project, Alli hinted on resettlement plans and offering requisite compensation.
He further avowed that the free trade zone was in using industrialization to address paucity of funds, boost employment and increase the state’s Internally Generated Revenue.
Alli spoke in company of Head of Service, Mr Soji Eniade; Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr Toye Arulogun; Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Mr Bimbo Kolade and Special Adviser to Governor Ajimobi on Communication and Strategy, Mr Yomi Layinka.
According to Alli, road projects up for flag off are, Gate Airport Alakia, Oke Adu-Iwo road expansion, Idi Ape-Akobo-Oju Irin, Eleyele-Ologuneru-Eruwa, while the Ajumose and Omololu Olunloyo Government Reserved Area will be commissioned.
He also reaffirmed that the take-off date of the Technical University, Ibadan, remained this September.
The list of programmes for the celebration also includes inauguration of Aso Oke market in Iseyin and UTME tutorial centre in Ago Amodu.
