Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has reappointed Dr. Seun Osamaye as Special Adviser on Women Affairs in Ondo State.
This reappointment of Dr Seun Bosede Osamaye as Special Adviser On Women Affairs by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa is part of the governor’s efforts to enhance governance and service delivery to the people of Ondo State. Dr. Osamaye has expressed her gratitude to the governor and promised to give her best to the women of Ondo State.
She has been a strong advocate for women’s empowerment and has commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for his commitment to gender equality and women’s empowerment.
Her reappointment is seen as a positive step towards promoting women’s representation in leadership positions and bridging the gender gap in Ondo State.
Dr. Seun Bosede Osamaye, FCISM, FAFUED, is a woman who wears many hats—and wears them all with grace, humour, and the unmistakable charm of someone who knows how to balance it all. From her stellar academic achievements to her impactful political strides, philanthropic gestures, and gender advocacy, Dr. Seun’s journey is one for the books, or in this case, the magazine.
Her story began with an unrelenting drive for excellence. A proud alumna of Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, where she graduated as the best student in her class, she moved on to obtain a Master’s degree in English from the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, and most recently crowned her academic pursuits with a Ph.D. in English from Nasarawa State University, Keffi. But don’t let the impressive qualifications fool you into thinking she’s all work and no play—rumour has it that even her most serious lectures were punctuated with good-natured humour that endeared her to staff and students alike.
Her contributions extend beyond the classroom. In 2019, she stepped into the political arena as the Coordinator of the Small Alhaji Campaign Organisation, leading Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye to victory as a member of the House of Representatives for Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency. Her knack for leadership and strategic thinking didn’t go unnoticed, landing her the role of Senior Legislative Aide on Gender Equality to Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila during his tenure as Speaker of the House of Representatives. Between 2019 and 2023, she championed causes that advanced the rights and welfare of women and the girl-child, working tirelessly to implement the VAPP Act and tackle issues of sexual and gender-based violence.
But what truly sets Dr. Seun apart is her humanity. Since 2019, her annual empowerment programme, “Give Back a Portion,” has been a lifeline for countless women, youths, and the less privileged in Ifedore Local Government. From cars and grinding machines to food items and cash gifts, her generosity knows no bounds. And when she’s not busy uplifting her community, she’s busy being celebrated for it—with over 90 awards and recognitions under her belt, including the Young Woman of the Decade Award by TRACE News Magazine and the Chronicle Magazine Leadership and Philanthropic Award.
Not one to rest on her laurels, Dr. Seun recently commissioned a 200-capacity ultra-modern faculty library for her alma mater, a gesture that speaks volumes about her commitment to education and community development. Her current role as Special Adviser on Women Affairs to the Governor of Ondo State has given her an even broader platform to promote gender equality through initiatives like the O’datiwa Women Initiatives, which empowers women across Ondo State.
Her leadership as National President of the Progressive Young Women Forum and her pivotal role in the Progressive Change Agents Initiative (PCAi) during President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s campaign further cement her status as a force to be reckoned with in Nigeria’s political landscape.
Married to Mr. Oladotun Emmanuel Osamaye and blessed with children, Dr. Seun balances the demands of family, career, and public service with an ease that leaves many wondering if she’s discovered a 25th hour in the day. A trailblazer, a philanthropist, and an eternal optimist, Dr. Seun Bosede Osamaye is proof that greatness, when laced with humour and humility, becomes truly unforgettable.
