Air Force restates commitment to protecting lives, property of Nigerians

Chief of Air Staff, (CAS), Air Marshal Saddique Baba Abubakar has promised to ensure that Bauchi state and the entire North-East was adequately protected and secured from any act of insurgency and criminality just as he said that an Air Force University will soon be established in the State.

The CAS made the promise when Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir paid him a visit at the Headquarters of the Nigerian Air Force in Abuja on Tuesday saying that the Air Force had recently established a Special Training Center in Bauchi Operations Command  on land operations, deployed special forces to war zones as well as other Special operations to stabilise the country.

He announced that all arrangements have been concluded for the Nigerian Air Force University in Bauchi as well as the renovation and expansion of the airstrip in Azare town for operational purposes.

Air Marshal Saddique Baba Abubakar said that through its reforms in the Air Force, it has recorded tremendous successes in containing Boko Haram, Banditry and protection of the Nation’s territorial borders.

Earlier, Bauchi state Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Muhammed had applauded the outstanding performance of the Nigerian Air Force in protecting the national territory and providing security of lives and properties of the people.

Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammed said he was at the Air Force headquarters on solidarity to the Air Chief as a Worthy son of the state who has contributed immensely to the development of the state.

He praised the Air Force under the leadership of Chief of Air Staff in curtailing Boko Haram insurgency, Banditry, kidnapping and other forms of criminality in the country.

While commending the Chief of Air Staff for establishing a Special Operations Command in Bauchi,  the Governor also appreciated the proposed plans to establish an Air Force University in the state.

Bala Abdulkadir Muhammed appealed for more collaborative efforts between the Air Force and the state government in fighting remnants of insurgent dislodged from North-East and assured that his administration is committed to ensuring adequate security and protection of lives and property.
