In a statement issued by the Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Manager, Mrs. Abimbola Shobanjo, she expressed the company’s commitment to the good health and wellbeing of Nigerians at all times.
Mrs. Shobanjo pointed out that the employees who donated blood were motivated by patriotism and love for humanity to save those in need of blood transfusion for survival.
She said: “World Blood Donor Day serves as a powerful reminder of the life-saving impact a single blood donation can have. We are proud of our employees who stepped forward today to answer the call and contribute to this vital cause.”
Also, AIICO Insurance Plc has won the prestigious “Community Blood Drive Initiative” Award of the Lagos State Blood Transfusion Service (LSBTC) in recognition and appreciation of its significant contributions to the success and impact of the LSBTC mandate of ensuring adequate and high quality blood supply in Lagos State.
In a letter of notification to the Managing Director of AIICO Insurance from the Executive Secretary of LSBTS, Dr. B.I. On June 14 every year, World Blood Donor Day is observed worldwide to acknowledge the need to create a blood bank for people such as accident victims, anaemic individuals, and others with inadequate blood.
