Newly posted Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 3 Command Headquarters, Akinwale Kunle, has called on stakeholders in the state to embrace stronger policing.
The AIG, which comprises Adamawa and Taraba, made the call while on a familiarisation visit to Adamawa, commending the Commissioner of Police for the wonderful work he is doing, as evidenced by the various speakers.
AIG Kunle also commended the Adamawa state government for giving all necessary support and assistance to the police to operate in Adamawa.

Speaking during the event, the Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, revealed the command’s successes in curbing crime and criminality, saying “the command arrested high-profile suspects.
Adding that those arrested include kidnappers and members of the notorious Shila Boys gang, as well as the recovery of arms and ammunition”.
He also highlighted the rescue of four kidnapped victims and 13 trafficked children, among other achievements.
Ahmed Lawan, a Senior Special Assistant on security in Adamawa, said the state government is working with the Police to reduce crime in the state, adding that the relationship between the state government and the police is cordial.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to sustaining peace and pledged to support the renovation of roads and infrastructure within the police command.
Zonal Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) Chairman, Simon Buba, commended the command for maintaining the serenity currently being enjoyed in the state.
He praised the PCRC’s proactive role in intelligence sharing.
Similarly, the Adamawa State PCRC Chairman, Bubakari Kamale, underscored the symbiotic relationship between the police and the community, noting that the state’s relative peace is a result of the police force’s hard work.
He called for even greater intelligence sharing to achieve more successes.
