The Social Democratic Party (SDP) Kaduna state chapter has again disowned the former governor of Kaduna state, Mallam Nasiru El-Rufai.
This was disclosed by the zonal secretary of the party, North West, Alh Idris Inuwa, in a press conference in Kaduna on Friday.
He said, “It is now public knowledge that, penultimate week, one Malam Nasir El-Rufai-flanked by a band of meddlesome politicians in Kaduna State attended a gathering where he brazenly and falsely claimed to speak for the Social Democratic Party (SDP), arrogating to himself a leadership role he neither holds nor deserves.”
“We will like to state from the onset that we categorically and unequivocally denounce the actions of Malam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai and his meddlesome politicians who have repeatedly and fraudulently paraded themselves as representatives of our esteemed SDP in Kaduna State.
“This individual and his co-travelers whose names have surfaced in multiple public/ private meetings and engagements, have never been recognized members of the SDP, nor does any one of them hold any official position or mandate to speak or act on behalf of the SDP in Kaduna State.
“It has come to our attention that Malam Nasir El-Rufa’i has taken it upon himself to appear in various forums-including policy dialogues, stakeholder engagements, and even private strategy meetings— purporting to speak on behalf of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
“Let this be made unequivocally clear to all: Mal. El-Rufa’i is not authorized, mandated, or recognized by the SDP in any capacity to represent its interests, articulate its positions, or speak on its behalf.
“His actions were carried out entirely without the knowledge, consent, or approval of the party’s national leadership-including our dynamic Acting National Chairman, Dr. Sadiq Umar Abubakar Gombe; our distinguished National Secretary- Chief (Dr.) Olu Agunloye among others.
“We urge all stakeholders, partners, and the general public to disregard any such claims made by Mal. El-Rufa’i in the name of the SDP. The party’s positions and commitments can only be conveyed through its duly authorized representatives.
“The individual in question is not now, nor has he ever been, a registered or accredited member of the SDP. Our records, which are regularly updated and open to verification, have no trace of his membership.
“He has never participated in our official programs, strategy meetings, or constitutional decision-making
processes.
“Furthermore, at no point has our Party issued a letter of appointment, nomination, or delegation to this individual to serve in any capacity, formal or informal.
“Therefore, all statements, representations, and commitments made by him in the name of our SDP are null and void.
