The Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule, announced the dissolution of all members of the state Executive Council during a special emergency meeting he called on Friday.

Also sacked were the Secretary to the State Government( SSG) and the other categories of political appointees (SSA’s, SA’s, PA’s).

The dissolution of the exco is expected to have far-reaching implications for the state’s governance and policy implementation but as events unfold it will become clear to why the governor decided to take this far-reaching decision.

Although the exact reasons for the dissolution were not clear as governor has been known for his efforts to restructure and strengthen the state’s administration.

However, in 2021, he dissolved the state executive council, citing the need for a more effective and efficient governance structure.

The removal of the SSG was also seen as usual development because of the significant of the office, as this position plays a crucial role in advising the governor and coordinating state policies.
