Gunmen again struck on Wednesday evening killing two Vigilantes after killing three policemen at the security checkpoint in the morning in Egbe, Kogi state.
The Comptroller General Kogi State Vigilante Service, Ibrahim Omeiza Sani DIS (Rtd) disclosed this on Thursday in a statement issued from his office
According to him, on 10th September 2025, at about 1700 hours, two 2 personnel of the Kogi State Vigilante Service (KSVS) were tragically killed by armed men suspected to be Fulani bandits at a security checkpoint along the Egbe–Eruku Federal Highway, Yagba West Local Government Area.
“The Kogi State Vigilante Service deeply regrets this loss and expresses heartfelt condolences to the families, colleagues, and communities of the fallen operatives. Their sacrifice in the line of duty will forever be honored.
He therefore reassured the public that KSVS, in collaboration with other security agencies, remains committed to tracking down the perpetrators of this heinous act and ensuring that justice is served.
Tribune Online recalls that the Kogi State Police Command recently confirmed the killing of three of its officers by unknown gunmen in a checking point in Egbe, a community sharing boundary with Kwara State.
Aya asserted that the Kogi State Commissioner of Police Miller Dantawaye has deployed Police tactical team to the area adding that they are on the trail of the gunmen.
