AASU said in a statement by its sectary-general, Comrade Peter Kodje, and made available to the Nigerian Tribune, that Abiodun Dada was honoured as “a pillar of education in Nigeria and Africa at large.”
The students said his credible performance as the chairman of the council since his election made them to confer on him “The Most Outstanding Local Government 2017/18.”
The pan-African students’ body said Dada had “affected everything positively in the local government area, in the area of human capacity building, material capacity building, infrastructural upgrading and academics,” and added that the council boss had made sure “everyone in Ijero Local Government who comes into contact with him feels the presence of democracy.”
According to the AASU, they were impressed by the Dada’s character “both in public and private that is devoid of any criminal tenets and his zero tolerance for corruption.”
