The Africa Digital Economy Summit will foster robust engagements by leveraging collaboration and partnerships with Heads of Government, policymakers, and FinTech providers.
It will also bring together innovators, entrepreneurs, and a broad range of stakeholders and key industry players from across the globe.
This was disclosed on Monday in Abuja by Kelvin Jiraji, Co-Chair of the G20/T20 AFRIDES, at a press conference unveiling the Africa Digital Economy Summit, which is scheduled to be held in São Paulo, Brazil.
According to him, the summit, themed “Digital Transformation for Sustainable Growth: Africa’s Path to a Connected Future,” will provide a fertile ground for a wide spectrum of stakeholders to work together to maximize the potential and sustainability of Africa’s vital digital economy infrastructure.
“It will simultaneously develop and strengthen existing and new networking opportunities, promote industry awareness, advocacy, and support for public and private sector national and sub-national digital economy and transformation interventions.
“Permit me to reiterate that the extensive expansion of technology and digital transformation necessitates recognizing the ecosystem dimensions of the digital economy value chain and the urgency to integrate into its superstructures. The Summit will be held at the Intercontinental Hotel, Alameda Santos, 1123 São Paulo, Jardim Paulista, Brazil, from October 27th to 31st, 2024,” Jiraji stated.
The Co-Chair explained that the summit aligns with Africa’s institutional framework for achieving its Digital Economy Policy and Strategy and the implementation of the e-Government Master Plan.

He added that the summit is particularly strategic for Africa’s e-governance and its ecosystem because digital economy resilience is crucial for implementing and articulating economic and business policies and programs in both the public and private sectors. It serves as a catalyst for building efficiencies and capabilities to deliver on critical aspects of economic transformation, development, and national re-engineering.
The four-day summit is also expected to open up viable opportunities for the regeneration of numerous economic and investment opportunities, creating wealth, providing job opportunities, and stimulating development in Africa.
According to the organizers, resolutions from the summit will undoubtedly inject fresh ideas and initiatives into policy planning to reinforce a systemized and collective framework for achieving digital economy priority objectives.
