Afenifere lauds Oyebanji for implementing S’West development roadmap in Ekiti

…Backs gov’s re-election bid

The Ekiti state chapter of the Afenifere Renewal Group has revealed that the state governor, Biodun Oyebanji has been implementing projects and programmes in conformity to the roadmap document designed by Development Agenda for Western States(DAWN) for the South-West states.

The group explained that the governor in the last two and half years has raised the bar of governance across all areas of the economy, adding that his administration has impacted positively on the people of the state which made them support the series of governor’s endorsement for a second term in office.

The state coordinator of ARG, Elder Olubunmi Awotiku spoke on Thursday in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital while addressing newsmen shortly after the statutory meeting of the group.

He stated that Governor Oyebanji being one of the founders of the ARG has not disappointed them with his policies and projects, noting that his inclusive leadership style has placed the state on the pedestal of socio-economic development.

While insisting their decision has nothing to do with political parties or candidates, Awotiku, said the group’s primary responsibility is to ensure the development and progress of the state and the region in accordance with the prepared roadmap document.

According to him, the governor has not deviated from the policy documents prepared by the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN) commission towards the growth and development of the states in the South west region.

Awotikun said, “ We are endorsing Governor Biodun Oyebanji for a second term based on the documentation because we have a paper here called Development Agenda for Western Nigeria strategy roadmap.

“ We are ticking the boxes across all sectors including health, social welfare, road infrastructure , education and the rest , we have found worthy and he has performed very well.

“ We want to thank the Ekiti people for cooperating with him. We are not just endorsing him, but we have a document that we are looking at and it is obvious that he has  not deviated from what we have in the document designed for South West states towards development. He is a true Omoluabi.

“ The roadmap document is the expectation of the Yoruba people across different segments and sectors. He has ticked all boxes , looking at his investment in the health sector for people to embrace the government hospitals. Look at the Ado-Iworoko roads, among others.

“ Let me tell you that we are not taking sides, but we want to let you know that Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji , being our own product as one of the founders of ARG, has done a yeoman’s job.

“ He is part of us and he has not disappointed us. This is not about endorsement but sealing all the various endorsements by stakeholders in the state in the last few months.”
