The final journey of the promising gospel minister, Aduke Ajayi, popularly known as Aduke Gold, will commence on August 21 and will be eventually laid to rest on August 23.
The singer died on Monday at the University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan after battling undisclosed ailment as friends and colleagues were thrown into mourning.
According to the family, the final burial of Aduke Gold will be held on August 23 at the Lagos African church, College Road, Ifako-Ijaiye, while a candle night will be held in her honor, 6 pm on August 21, at Ayorinde Street, along College Road, Ifako-Ijaiye.
It was also gathered that a 12-hour artiste’s night will be held on August 22 to celebrate the life and times of Aduke Gold at the same venue.
Contrary to the news doing the rounds that she died of fibroid, the elder brother,
Aderounmu Ajayi, on behalf of the family, debunked that it was not true, noting that the real cause of her death was as a result of a life-threatening ailment.
“She was ill. She had cervical cancer and she was taken to the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan, Oyo State. Unfortunately, she died. I am quoting the death certificate. So, whoever is quoting what is not should just stop that. Our daughter was ill. She had cervical cancer and to the glory of God, she rested last Monday. It is always ideal to get information from the right source,” he added.
