The Ado Grammar School Alumni 2005 set, under the leadership of its president, Olabode Wilson Rawa, has celebrated a significant milestone with the groundbreaking ceremony for a 500-capacity multipurpose hall at the school premises in Ado-Ekiti.
The event, attended by alumni, staff, students and representatives of the school’s mother union, was described as a bold initiative aimed at promoting community development and supporting the members of the alumni cooperative society.
The multipurpose hall, designed to accommodate 500 people, will also include two offices allocated to members of the alumni cooperative and the shops canteen.
Speaking, president of the 2005 set, Rawa explained that the initiative was focused on strengthening business and the school growth and development.
He emphasised that the project was not merely a meeting space but a legacy designed to empower alumni members.
The president commended the efforts of the 2005 set for achieving the milestone despite numerous challenges.
Rawa encouraged current and future alumni executive members to remain dedicated to the school and the cooperative society’s objectives, expressing confidence that posterity will recognise and reward their contributions.
He expressed gratitude to the school’s mother union for supporting the project, reaffirming the alumni’s commitment to adhering to the union’s constitution.
The school’s principal, Mrs Adenike Ademiluyi, commended the 2005 set for their steadfastness and uncommon dedication to transforming their alma mater not minding challenges.
She described the gesture as unprecedented with a charge to the set not to relent, just as they sustain peace and unity with the mother union and other sets of the school.
The 2005 set also reflected on their previous achievements, such as distributing forms to indigent students and plans to refurbish the school’s Adire hub to preserve cultural heritage.
