It was an exciting moment for Nigeria’s creative industry as legendary media entrepreneur Wale Adenuga was celebrated with one of the highest honours in the sector, earning his place as Grand Patron of the Electronic Media Content Owners Association of Nigeria, the foremost body representing producers of television, radio, and digital content across the country.
The recognition was conferred during the EMCOAN Induction Ceremony held on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, in Lagos, drawing key stakeholders and influential figures from Nigeria’s media and entertainment landscape.
Adenuga, who serves as Chairman of Wale Adenuga Productions, PEFTI Film Institute, and WAPTV, was visibly honoured by the appointment, which recognises his decades-long contribution to content creation and industry development.
Speaking after receiving the honour, the veteran producer reflected on his long-standing relationship with the association and its evolution over the years.
“As one of the founding fathers of EMCOAN, I am truly proud of what the association has become today,” Adenuga said.
“With its league of distinguished members, the organisation has continued to keep its flag flying, ensuring that content creators in this part of the world are properly represented as they pursue both their creative and business endeavours.”
He further pledged unwavering commitment to the new role, assuring members of his dedication to advancing the association’s vision.
