FORMER president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, on Tuesday commissioned the Okefia-Old Garage-Lameco Road in Osogbo, the State capital, constructed by Senator Ademola Adeleke-led administration, describing the governor as a practical administrator with good managerial skills.

He applauded the governor for doing a good job in the state and prayed against calamities, disasters, and misfortune for every soul that would be plying the road.

“When I arrived here, you told me about the pensioners owed by the previous governments that you’ve paid. The advice I want to give you is that you should continue as you are doing.

“What you are elected for is to make lives easier for Osun people, and that is what you are doing. May God help you. Those who have been governors before you have written their own history, and you are also writing yours now. I want to assure you that I will always support you in whatever you do.

“Osun State is very special in all the Yoruba-speaking states. Ile-Ife, which is the cradle of the Yoruba race, is in Osun; that is why the work you are doing in Osun is for all the Yoruba states.”

In his own remark, the governor, Senator Adeleke, assured residents of the state that his administration would not relent in providing them with dividends of democracy.

The governor who named the commissioned road after, the late Asiwaju of Osogbo land, Chief Ajadi Badmus, added that he was voted into power to provide succour for people of the state.

He pledged that many more developmental projects are still going to be embarked upon by his administration.

Adeleke noted that PDP government is known for development and pace-setting achievements, affirming that his administration would ensure that the length and breadth of the state become virile in terms of provision of developmental projects and infrastructure development.
