The senior special assistant (SSA) to Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke on Public Health, Maruf Hassan, has facilitated a scholarship programme for some students of the state.
Hassan, in a recent statement, stated that the scholarship, worth ₦15 million for each beneficiary, was organised and awarded by the Springtime Development Foundation (SDF), founded in 1996 by Dr Adedeji Adeleke, to provide relief and support to disadvantaged communities in Nigeria through programmes focused on education, health, and welfare.
Hassan said that the beneficiaries of this year’s edition of the scholarship were candidates from the Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan Federal Constituency of the state, who scored 250 and above in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The Osun governor’s aide revealed that his role in the execution of the scholarship was to offer intensive training and prepare the students for the examination, and also to provide necessary logistics for the award of the scholarship.
According to him, over 60 students from the constituency, who scored 250 and above in the UTME, were screened, after which ten emerged at the grand finale of the exercise.
He said that the initiative, which began early last May, followed a rigorous selection process and proved challenging for him and his team at first, but they are happy with the outcome and the impact of the scholarship on the students and their families.
He added that the successful candidates have gone to the Springtime Development Foundation office to collect their scholarship letter.
“This is one of the best things I have done this year for the students of my constituency,” he said.
The Osun governor’s aide further said he received significant logistics assistance from Hon. Omoleye Olanrewaju Oladebo, representing Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, who he serves as his SSA on student affairs.
While appreciating Hon. Oladebo for his passion and his role in the education and career growth of students and youths in the state, he encouraged students across the constituency to remain focused, assuring them that more educational interventions are on the way.
“By God’s grace, my team and I plan to field more than 100 students for this scholarship opportunity next year,” he said.
