Adeleke vows to reclaim Osun LGAs, rallies PDP for 2026

… charges party members to start mobilisation for 2026 election

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on Thursday, affirmed that his administration would get the state’s local governments back from those that want to hold it down.

Adeleke also charged all members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to start mobilisation for the Osun election.

The governor, who expressed his determination at his heroic welcome reception at a rally organised in his honour by the leadership of the party in Osogbo, appealed to them to get their voter cards updated and mobilise themselves and their people for the exercise in favour of the party.

He said, “They are shocked by our delivery and transformation of Osun; They want to keep Osun from developing. Will you allow them? Great members of PDP and good people of Osun state, should we go back to the past again? Should we return to bad governance again? We must sustain good governance.

“We must sustain the tempo. The good work must continue. Osun people are with us. God is with us. We shall overcome the Pharaohs facing us. We will get our local government back and running.”

Adeleke, however, appealed to the electorate to get their voter cards updated and mobilise themselves and their people for the exercise in favour of the party.

He stressed, “Talk to your neighbours, families and friends. Show them our good work across sectors.”

In his remark at the event, the party chairman, Hon. Sunday Bisi said, “We welcome the governor back to Osun. Anybody who is a student of history will know that we have won the second term. In 2021, we welcomed him like this, and he won in 2022.

“Oyetola is presenting those that are not eligible for the 2026 gubernatorial race. When my friend, Omisore, declared his intention to run, it is unfortunate, he has been aspiring since the 1990s, when Dotun Babayemi was in secondary. If all of them make themselves one, we will defeat them in a landslide victory; they won’t have one local government.

“We will defeat any of them hands down in 2026, Adeleke had proved, but they don’t have any. He is delivering on good governance since he emerged as the governor. Adeleke has been defeating them all this while.

“Our people are participating very well in CVR, it is even much, we will use the vote to bury them finally in 2026 by the grace of God.”

Also, a PDP chieftain and a Senator representing Osun West, Hon. Lere Oyewumi, said,” I came to appreciate the members of PDP for their support. Tai Solarin said, May your road be rough. ‘ We don’t know that, it is a blessing statement. If there is no challenge, God won’t show. What is happening shows that people are behind you. Adeleke is really popular; we can’t do anything to those who are defecting. PDP is very strong in Osun because people know our party for good governance.

“All of us will be fortunate, I learnt that CVR is going on well, let us monitor registration at every local government and unit. God has been giving out government wisdom to wade through the water during this local government imbroglio. “

In his submission, Hon. Lasun Yusuf, a former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, “PDP is on Adeleke, the resources that God gave the family, you used it to liberate the people. We don’t know that we were in bondage before. Some governments have come that they are not from Osun State.

“Nobody has the constitutional right to seize the local and state allocation under whatever circumstances. Don’t be fooled and discouraged, only the government-oriented party will win the election; nobody can use federal might anywhere.

“The same way God answered PDP’s prayer in 2018, 2022, he will do the same in 2026 by the grace of God. We should not succumb to any intimidation.

“I am solidly behind Governor Ademola Adeleke, and God is behind us no matter the circumstances. I fear God because when he concludes matters, no human can change it. Adeleke is God’s project.”

Also, the speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon Adewale Egbedun, said, “Those that defected to their party could not come home again because people are opposed to them.

“If the party gives you N10,000, you would have suffered N10million. We are solidly behind Adeleke in Osun Central. When the battle gets tough, the victory gets sweeter. It was more tense in 2022 when we did not have a single Senator. Oyinlola is unavoidably absent, but he is with us.
