Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on Thursday took a swipe at the All Progressives Congress (APC), accusing the party of running an “anti-worker and anti-labour” administration during its years in power in the state.

In a statement issued in Osogbo by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the governor said the “sins of the Osun APC against workers and pensioners are grave, life-threatening, and deliberately inhuman.”

According to Adeleke, neither Osun workers nor residents want a return to the “inhuman leadership that viciously trampled upon the rights and privileges of workers and senior citizens.”

He noted that his administration has fulfilled critical promises to workers in the state, a claim he said is reflected in the mass endorsement of his re-election bid between 2024 and 2025.

The governor listed improved conditions of service, regular promotions, payment of due allowances, consistent salary payments, cash-backing of promotions, access to health insurance, settlement of half-salary arrears, and pension payments as evidence of his government’s commitment.

“Amid tight financial constraints, the administration has remained focused on the balanced distribution of limited resources while preparing the ground for the absorption of new staff in line with needs and available resources. Osun workers know their friends from their tormentors,” the statement read.

Adeleke stressed that his administration “acts in the best interest of workers and the people of Osun,” adding that “the interests of all cadres of workers are a priority for the governor and top officials of the administration.”

He maintained that his government has demonstrated an “unflinching commitment to the welfare and well-being of workers in the state.”
