The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ebonyi State has expressed readiness to participate and win positions in forthcoming August 2026 LGA elections and the 2027 general elections.
Speaking with journalists in Abakaliki, the party’s state chairman, Jennifer Adibe-Nwafor disclosed that the party has registered over 5,000 members and is harmonising its structures at local government and ward levels.
The state chairman said, “ADC aims to change the current situation in Nigeria and offers solutions through its agenda and manifesto.
“The party is focused on issue-based politics and is open to new members and defectors from other parties. There are over nineteen political parties in Ebonyi State, with ADC being one of the opposition parties. ADC plans to participate in the local government elections scheduled for next year.
“Currently, there are no security threats to ADC, and the party is prepared to address any future issues. The party believes that vote buying in recent elections did not reflect its performance.
“ADC expects to gain more members, including senators and assembly members, before the next primaries. The party is confident about winning positions in the 2027 elections in Ebonyi. ADC encourages individuals to join freely, emphasising freedom of association in Nigeria.
“The party assures potential members that their mandates will be protected. ADC has been receiving interest from politicians and expects more to join soon.
“The party is not threatened by the ruling party and remains committed to its core values. ADC is actively engaging with coalition partners and organizing seminars and meetings.”
