Come June 1, 2024, banker, Dr Adaora Umeoji will leave a mark on the annals of Zenith Bank as she replaces Dr Ebenezer Onyeagwu and becomes the first female Group Managing Director of the bank since inception.
The announcement was better imagined as the Lagos headquarters of the financial institution entered a fit of jubilation with friends and colleagues falling over themselves to congratulate the woman.
Before the appointment, Umeoji had been the Deputy Managing Director of Zenith Bank since 2016 and boasts about 30 years of experience in the banking sector.
An alumnus of the prestigious Harvard Business School, also the Columbia Business School. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Jos, a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Baze University, and a Master of Law from the University of Salford, United Kingdom.
