The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, swore in Amos Yohana as Senator for Adamawa North Senatorial District on Wednesday.
Yohana replaces Senator Ishaku Abbo, who was ousted by a pronouncement of the Court of Appeal.
Yohana was sworn in on Wednesday during the plenary session presided over by Senator Barau.
The three-member panel of the Court of Appeal, presided over by Justice C.E. Nwosu-Iheme, had sacked Senator Abbo and ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission to issue a Certificate of Return to Yohanna as the duly elected lawmaker representing the area in the National Assembly.
Yohanna, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was handed over instruments of office and documents by the Deputy President of the Senate to mark the official swearing-in.
