Lagos State chapter of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) on Sunday raised the alarm over the continued feud between the executive, legislative and executive arms of government over the 2019 budget for the state, describing as regrettable the inability of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to nip the problem in the bud.
Chairman of the party, Mr. Kolawole Ajayi, raised this alarm in a statement made available to newsmen, saying the two arms of government had been up in arms against each others over the document and, therefore, the inability of the state governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, to present the document to the House.
According to AD chairman, the issue has generated a lot of controversies in the state prompting a great lull in commercial and economic activities in the state.

“It is unfortunate that the various arms of the state government have allowed personal ego and interest to over shadow their sense of duty to the state.”
“It’s unfortunate that the aftermath of the last rounds of primaries conducted by the APC in Lagos State is impacting negatively on the people of the state as seen in the needless schism between the two arms of government,” Ajayi said.
While lamenting that the current situation was a departure from the norm, he said, the politician recalled that past budgets were usually presented to the state House of Assembly by October and would have been passed by the House by the last week of December, adding but sadly this last was not the case.
“I, however, call on the people of the state to vote the AD and all its candidates at the forthcoming elections,” he counseled.
