Twenty-three years after its creation, the Correspondents Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Abia State Council early this week, commissioned its first office in Umuahia.

This was even as the Chief Press Secretary to Gov Alex Otti of Abia state, Ukoha Njoku Ukoha expressed his excitement while commissioning the office.

Ukoha charged Journalists in the state to always stand by the truth, report objectively, be unbiased and be constructive in criticisms, while emphasizing the importance of the media to the promotion of good governance as championed by the state governor,  Alex Otti,

He stressed the need for synergy between the state government and the media and pleaded with members of the Correspondents Chapel for a collaboration with him.

Responding on behalf of members of the chapel, the Chairman of the Correspondents chapel, Chief Obinna Ibe congratulated the new Chief Press Secretary on his appointment, assuring that the press would continue to publicize the activities, projects, and programmes of the state government.

Earlier while consecrating the office, Rev. Fr. Kizito Ndulaka, Principal, Santa Cruz Secondary School, Olokoro, who was accompanied by Rev. Fr. Joseph Njoku prayed to God to make the office to be for the good of the Correspondents Chapel.

He advised the chapel members to work with the fear of God to receive His blessings, protection, and guidance.
