ABDUCTORS of retired Superintendent of Police and former Divisional Police Officer, Chief James Omafuaire, have demanded N25 million to effect his release.
They reached out to the kidnapped octogenarian’s son, Charles Omafuaire, late Monday night, it was gathered.
Alleged herdsmen, TribuneOnline had reported on Monday, kidnapped Chief Omafuaire, his wife, Victoria and a customer at his Ikpeshi Quarry site in Akoko Edo Local Government Area of Edo State.
A family member, Christy Omafuaire Atie, who confirmed the requested ransom to journalists in Warri, said the family was emotionally in disarray over the incident.
She, therefore, appealed to the police authority to swiftly launch a manhunt to rescue her father.
Atie, who also informed that N200,000 was carted away by the hoodlums, appealed to the kidnappers to reduce the N25m ransom requested.
Abducted Omafuaire, who’s an elder brother of Vanguard Newspaper Senior Photojournalist in Warri, Akpokona Omafuaire, was kidnapped along with his wife, Mrs Victoria and a customer at his Ikpeshi Quarry at Igarra in Edo.
His wife was later, however, released by the abductors Omafuaire, a chief from Akperhe-Olomu in Ughelli-South Local Government Area of Delta State, was supervising his workers at his quarry site in Ikpeshi near Auchi when the armed herdsmen struck.
