Eniola Olajuni, the National President of the Afenifere Youth Council, has been released after spending 12 days in captivity.
Olajuni was abducted on February 17 while traveling to Abuja for a meeting.
A viral video had surfaced during his captivity, showing Olajuni pleading for help at gunpoint, with his abductors demanding a ransom of N100 million and two tricycles for his release.
The circumstances surrounding the ransom payment remain unclear.
However, the National Secretary of the Youth Council, Biodun Aderohunmu, confirmed Olajuni’s release on Saturday, stating, “He has been released.”
Olajuni’s abduction had sparked widespread concern, with the Inspector General of Police ordering the deployment of the Intelligence Response Team to ensure his safe return.
