ABC Transport Plc emerged as the Nigerian Exchange’s (NGX) top-performing stock for the week ended June 11, 2026, after its share price jumped 25.6 percent to close at N7.80 from an opening price of N6.21, making it the best-performing equity on the bourse during the four-day trading week. The stock added N1.59 per share within the period, outperforming all other listed companies as investors continued to accumulate positions in anticipation of sustained earnings growth and stronger operational performance.
The rally came as investors digested the company’s improving financial fundamentals and ongoing transformation into a diversified transport and logistics group. The sharp appreciation also extended the stock’s remarkable long-term recovery, with market data showing that ABC Transport has delivered a one-year return of approximately 225 per cent, underscoring growing market confidence in its turnaround strategy. At the close of trading on June 11, the company’s market capitalisation stood at about N18.7 billion.
The strong weekly performance placed ABC Transport ahead of other notable gainers, including Consolidated Hallmark Holdings, Abbey Mortgage Bank, Infinity Trust Mortgage Bank and Austin Laz & Company, all of which posted double-digit gains during the week. However, none matched the transport company’s 25.6 per cent appreciation.
Investors’ enthusiasm was largely driven by the company’s improving earnings trajectory. In its first-quarter 2026 financial report, ABC Transport posted revenue of N4.27 billion, representing an 18 per cent increase from N3.63 billion recorded in the corresponding period of 2025. Profit after tax rose to N239.7 million, while profit before tax stood at N340.1 million, reinforcing the view that the company’s recovery is being supported by genuine operational improvements rather than speculative sentiment.
The first-quarter performance followed an exceptional 2025 financial year in which the company reported revenue of N15.96 billion, up 27.5 per cent from N12.52 billion in 2024. Net profit climbed by more than 82 per cent to N971.3 million, highlighting the success of management’s efforts to expand logistics, haulage and cargo operations while improving cost efficiency.

Analysts said the stock’s rally reflects a broader re-rating by investors who increasingly view ABC Transport as a logistics growth story rather than merely a passenger transportation company. Revenue from cargo, haulage and logistics services has become a significant contributor to earnings, helping the company reduce its dependence on passenger transport operations and creating a more diversified revenue base.
The surge in ABC Transport’s share price also coincided with a positive week for the broader market. The NGX All-Share Index advanced 0.88 per cent to close at 244,738.74 points, while market capitalisation appreciated to N156.97 trillion. Within that bullish environment, ABC Transport distinguished itself as the week’s standout performer, attracting renewed interest from both retail and institutional investors.
Market watchers believe the company’s ability to sustain earnings growth will determine whether the rally continues through the second half of the year. While inflation, fuel costs and exchange-rate volatility remain risks to the transportation industry, the company’s improving profitability and expanding logistics footprint have strengthened investor confidence.
For now, the numbers tell a compelling story. A 25.6 per cent gain in just one week, an 18 per cent rise in quarterly revenue, and an 82 per cent jump in full-year earnings have combined to place ABC Transport among the most closely watched turnaround stocks on the Nigerian Exchange in 2026.
