LAGOS State governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the provision of quantitative and quality education to the people of the state.
He gave the assurance at the grandfinale of this year’s annual Governor’s Quiz competition among public school students in the state as part of their curriculum activities.
The Lagos State Senior Model College, Badore won the senior school category of the competition, while Vetland Junior Grammar School, Agege, and Igbeyinadun Primary School, Mushin, won the junior secondary and primary school categories, respectively.
Sanwo- Olu, represented by the state’s Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr Jamiu Alli-Balogun, expressed pleasure on the improved state of education in the state, saying the positive turnaround recorded in the sector in the recent years has yielded tremendous results.
He congratulated all the winners and their opponents and teachers, saying their postures and performance at the event demonstrated that real learning and teaching are taking place in their schools.
He urged the students to remain focused in their studies, promising adequate support for them.
