THE National Universities Commission (NUC) has accredited seven programmes of McPherson University, Seriki Sotayo, Ogun State.
The deputy registrar and Information and Public Relations of the university Sanmi Enigbokan, in a statement seen by Nigeria Tribune, explained that the programmes were accredited during the October/November 2023 accreditation of academic programmes in Nigerian universities released recently by NUC.
According to Enigbokan, the seven accredited programmes are Medical Laboratory Science, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Mass Communication.
He stated that each programme’s maturity date subsists till 2028, and that with the accreditations, all academic programmes in the university have been fully accredited.
Enigbokan added that the accredited programmes aligned with their mission to provide qualitative, functional and sound education with godly virtues for leadership and positive societal impacts.
The vice chancellor of the university, Professor Francis Igbasan, according to the statement, attributed the success recorded to divine intervention, the dedication of faculty members and staff, the availability of cutting-edge resources and facilities for learning, and teaching and research at all levels.
The vice chancellor stated, “We should not rest on our oars, as the institution still has more grounds to cover.”
In light of this, the vice chancellor urged staff and students to brace for the task ahead in repositioning the institution for greatness.
